1947
The Demetree organization was founded in 1947 by William and Jack Demetree, and served as a home building and lot development company based in Jacksonville, Florida.

1947-1964
Demetree Builders developed over 5,000 single-family tract lots throughout Florida and Puerto Rico from 1947 through 1964.

1952
North Florida shopping center development was pioneered in 1952 when the company built the first A&P grocery anchored 42,000 square foot neighborhood shopping center. The development of convenience store anchored “strip centers,” freestanding restaurants, and multi-family housing in the 1960s established Demetree Builders as a leading developer and general contractor.

1965
In 1965, Demetree Enterprises was created as a full-service property management company for multi-family, conventional and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing, shopping centers, and office buildings.

1970
During Florida’s growth boom of the 1970s, general contracting and property management helped to establish the Demetree name as a leader in commercial real estate property development.

1983
Demetree Brothers was founded in 1983 by Mark C. Demetree and J.C. Demetree, Jr. The company began operations as a real estate developer in Jacksonville, Florida.

1985
In 1985, the Demetree companies merged operations and Demetree Brothers became a full service real estate developer and property manager actively engaged in real estate acquisition, property management and leasing, commercial development, and construction management. A strong foundation enabled Demetree Brothers to withstand market adversities while providing new opportunities for expansion and growth through sound strategic investments.

Today, Demetree Brothers comprises over 40 employees who are involved in property management operations including the leasing and operation of shopping centers, office buildings, storage facilities, and subsidized and conventional multi-family housing units.

What We Do
The Demetree Organization is a hands on management group which has developed, managed and owned both affordable and conventional apartment communities, as well as commercial real estate throughout the Southeast. Our team of property management professionals have over 50 years of experience in managing and improving properties. We bring together professionals whose real estate management, development, and investment strategies have served the test of time.

J.C. Demetree, Jr.
J.C. Demetree, Jr. (Jay) is a co-founder and President & CEO of Demetree Brothers, Inc. Demetree Brothers, Inc. is a privately owned company actively engaged in the investment, management and development of commercial and multifamily real estate. He is the Manager and President of Pentagon Properties, LLC. Pentagon Properties is a privately held company with investments in commercial real estate, finance, biotech, aviation, mining and new technologies.
Mr. Demetree currently serves on the boards of both growing and established companies, as well as numerous charitable organizations. Some of these organizations include St. Vincent’s Hospital Foundation, Inc., The Jacksonville Aviation Authority, Ronald McDonald House Advisory Board of Jacksonville, Jacksonville University Public Policy Institute, Ascension Florida Board of Directors, and the Jack and Betty Demetree Family Foundation.

Mark Demetree
Mark Demetree is one of the co-founders of Demetree Brothers, Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors and currently serves as Vice President. He has developed numerous commercial office and retail centers and currently directs venture capital operations. Mr. Demetree has served on the Board of Directors of several private and public companies.
In addition to Demetree Brothers, Mark is a co-founder and Operating Partner of Silverhawk Capital Partners. Mark currently serves as the Executive Chairman and CEO of Kissner Holdings; and, the Chairman and CEO of Meridian Chemicals. He is also a director of American In-Home Care and Spartan Energy. Previously, Mark served as Chairman of Texas Petrochemicals, Inc. (TXPI) (2004-2009), was a Director of American Italian Pasta Co. (AIPC) (1998-2010), and was Chairman and CEO of British Salt Holdings, LLC and its affiliate US Salt, LLC. From 2002-2004 he was Chairman and CEO of American Grinding Systems, LLC. From 1993 to 1997 he was President of North American Salt Company, a subsidiary of Compass Minerals, Inc. (CMP).

Christopher Demetree, Sr.
Christopher Demetree is one of the co-founders of Demetree Brothers, Inc. and currently serves as Vice President. Mr. Demetree has served as the Managing Partner for Alico Estates Development Associates, and as Vice President of Demetree Pasco Properties, Inc. His past developments include over 2,000 single family lots, a golf course country club community, and numerous commercial office/retail centers. Mr. Demetree has served on the Board of Directors of several private and public companies.
In addition to Demetree Brothers, Chris’s career has encompassed both operating and investment management responsibilities across multiple industries. Currently, he is a partner in V-P Ventures, a private investment firm focused on early stage companies, and CEO of Lazlo326, LLC, a platform technology company focused on mobile/digital content delivery.

Frank Reinstine, Jr.
Frank is the President of DEMCO Management, Inc., and is responsible for the development, financial and administrative operations of its portfolio of multi-family communities throughout Florida. Prior to joining DEMCO, Frank was the Commercial Leasing Manager for Demetree Brothers, Inc., which develops and manages a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate properties throughout Florida and the Southeast.

M. Harris Dunn, Jr.
Harris joined Demetree Brothers in 1981 and serves as Vice President & CFO. Larry Matthews
Larry joined Demetree Brothers in 1988 and manages the Company's real estate operations. He has been involved in the development and management of many commercial properties, including shopping centers and office buildings. Larry has been involved in all aspects of management including budgeting, financial review and maintenance of all properties.

Barbara Aspinwall
As Director of Multifamily Housing, Ms. Aspinwall is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of each apartment community. These responsibilities include ensuring properties are prepared for REAC and MOR inspections, while acting as company liaison with the U.S. Department of HUD and the local contract administrator. Ms. Aspinwall is a recipient of the First Coast Apartment Association Circle of Excellence “Regional Manager of the Year”. Originally from Kentucky, after service in the US Air Force (including Desert Storm), Ms. Aspinwall and her family reside in Jacksonville, FL.

Adam Summa
Adam joined Demetree Brothers in 2014 and serves as Director of Accounting. His areas of responsibility include accounting and finance of the Company regarding its residential lot developments, multi-family and commercial real estate projects, property management services, and family ownership entities. Adam is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting policies & procedures, preparing financial statements, budgeting, and ensuring successful completion of tax filings. Prior to joining the Company, Adam worked for KPMG and specialized in auditing public & private companies within the real estate sector.
